Adnams Beers

Jack Brand Dry Hopped Lager & Spindrift East Coast Blonde
Launched in September 2013, Dry Hopped Lager is Adnams first lager, brewed with Pilsner malt and a touch of Vienna malt.

This is full flavoured golden lager is light, crisp and refreshing with subtle malty flavours and a super hoppy aroma of tropical fruits, citrus and passionfruit.

American, Sterling and Amarillo hops to add a slight citrus tone to the beer and at 4.2% is not as strong as the Spindrift.

Spindrift gets it’s name from Adnams location on the coast and the feelings they wanted to evoke in people when they drank it.

The beer itself is 5% and is a blend of East Anglian malted barley, Boadicea and First Gold hops and high grade malted wheat, this gives it its typically Adnams aromas although a lot more subtle and understated. There were hints of peach and grapefruit and some malty sweetness, great stuff.

The flavour is light and thirst quenching, you get the toasted malt and a little sweetness  from the malt followed by the floral hops which gives it a lovely bitterness and just enough zing to keep you wanting more.

A lovely summer drink.

I think the Spindrift edges it, but they both are very enjoyable.

Try them both yourselves and see which you prefer.
